The Shindig Festival moved to the Ballyroe Heights Hotel Tralee in 2009 and what a great move it has turned out to be.

We are delighted to be able to confirm the services of Ger Butler who will not only share the set dance workshops with Pat Murphy, but he will also be teaching a specisl Battering Steps Workshop on the Friday night of the Shindig Festival and also a few Sean-Nos steps during the weekend.

Indeed Ger is a well known Set Dancer and Sean-Nos Dancer who is very busy at present, giving workshops all over the world. This year he will be travelling all over Europe and America to teach set dancing and battering steps.

The Shindig Festival are also delighted to welcome back both the Copperplate Ceili Band and the Brian Buru Ceili Band to the Shindig Festival in 2011. They are both fantastic Ceili Bands, whos music is full of drive and passion and with a selection of tunes not commonly played. They should both prove to be very popular to both dancers and listeners at the Shindig. The response to both of the above bands last year was great, so we decided to invite them both back again for 2011.
