The Shindig Festival has moved to the 4 star Carlton Hotel Tralee, which is located in Tralee town next to the Aquadome and the shops of Tralee. The Carlton Hotel is the official base for the 2012 Shindig Festival Weekend and are doing a great deal of only €99 P.P.S. for our weekend.

We are delighted to be able to confirm the services of Emma O' Sullivan & Patrick Devane who will teach a series of Sean-Nos dance workshops/classes during the weekend.

Sean-Nós dancer Emma O' Sullivan hails from Connemara, Co. Galway. In 2009, she won the All-Ireland Sean-Nós Dancing title at Oireachtas na Samhna in Letterkenny. She is best known for her successful appearances on the All-Ireland Talent Show which has made her a household name in Ireland and abroad. Emma will be teaching her Sean-Nós steps all weekend during the Shindig Festival Weekend Tralee in April 2012

Indeed Emma is a well known Sean-Nos Dancer who is very busy at present, giving workshops all over the world. This year she will be travelling all over Europe and America to teach Sean-Nos Dancing workshops. We are delighted to have her at the 2012 Shindig for the entire weekend.

We are also delighted to welcome the 2011 Oireacthas Sean-Nós dancing Champion Patrick Devane who will also be teaching Sean-Nós dancing at the Shindig Festival 2012. Patrick also comes from Connemara and all his family are involved in traditional Sean-Nós dancing. His brother, sister and father are all fine Sean-Nós dancers and musicians.

The Shindig Festival are also delighted to welcome back both the Johnny Reidy Ceili Band and the Brian Buru Ceili Band to the Shindig Festival in 2012. They are both fantastic Ceili Bands, whos music is full of drive and passion and with a selection of tunes not commonly played. They should both prove to be very popular to both dancers and listeners at the Shindig. The response to both of the above bands last year was great, so we decided to invite them both back again for 2012.

We have the Johnny Reidy Ceili Band on Friday night and also Sunday afternoon, with the Mighty Brian Boru Ceili Band on Saturday night.
