We are delighted to have at our disposal the use of the 4 star Carlton Hotel Tralee for our Annual Weekend Festival.
The Carlton Hotel is situated on the Dan Spring Road Tralee, near the Aquadome in Tralee town.
The Carlton Hotel prides itself on offering guests the very best in service, top class facilities and all the comfort and relaxation of Tralee's leading Hotel. It has it's own underground car park. It is the official hotel for the International Rose of Tralee Festival.
We hope you can once again join us for one of Ireland's Premier Set Dance Weekends, where the music, dance and craic will be guaranteed to satisfy.
The 'Shindig' is a fun packed weekend of great Irish music, set dancing, Sean-N¨®s dancing, singing, story telling and the occasional pint of Guinness.
The weekend consists of a series of workshops (classes) on all aspects of Traditional Irish Sean-N¨®s Dancing. We also have Set Dancing Ceilis throughout the weekend with some of Ireland's best Ceili bands, which include two Ceilis with the Johnny Reidy Ceili Band and also the Brian Boru Ceili Band.
We have also added The Deenagh Ceili Band to our list of events. The Deenagh will be playing for a session in the Main Bar before the Saturday night Ceili and we will have dance displays by internationally renowned Sean-Nos Dancers Brian Cunningham and Emma O Sullivanand any other Sean-Nos dancers who wish to join in. The Deenagh will also play a few sets on the night so this promises to be the mother of all sessions. Not to be missed.
We are also having Social Dancing and sing along sessions directly after the Ceilis on both Friday night and Saturday night in the Main Bar.
You will learn everything from the basic steps, movements and styles, to enable you to participate in our old style of house dancing or indeed the advanced battering steps used for the West Clare battering style of dancing or Connemara Sean-Nos dancing.
