We are delighted to have at our disposal the use of the Brandon Hotel Conference & Leisure Centre Tralee for our Annual Weekend Festival.
The Brandon Hotel is situated opposite the National Folk Theatre and Aquadome in Tralee Town. It is near a church and within walking distance for the famous January Sales in Tralee. There is Private Car Parking for Residents on arrival.
Full use of The Sanctuary Spa and Leisure Centre Jacuzzi, Sauna and Indoor Heated Swimming Pool is available free to all Hotel Residents during the weekend. (New Techno Gymnasium opened autumn 2005)
The Conference Centre Great Hall in the Brandon Hotel is one of the finest halls in Ireland with a capacity of 1,000 people. It is a fully Air Conditioned Hall with a huge timber dance floor. As 'The Shindig' is getting bigger and better each year, we felt it was time to move to such a grand hall in the interest of comfort and safety.
We hope you can once again join us for one of Ireland's Premier Set Dance Weekends, where the music, dance and craic will be guaranteed to satisfy.
The 'Shindig' is a fun packed weekend of great Irish music, set dancing, Sean-Nós dancing, singing, story telling and the occasional pint of Guinness.
The weekend consists of a series of workshops (classes) on all aspects of Traditional Irish Set Dancing.
You will learn everything from the basic steps, movements and styles, to enable you to participate in our old style of house dancing or indeed the advanced battering steps used for the West Clare battering style of dancing and also Connemara Sean-Nós Dancing.
